Biography
Carol Knowlton-Dority’s paintings evolve out of her own meditation practice. She explores her own interior world and uses creative realism and metaphor to express her findings.
Knowlton-Dority’s (Re)turn to Stillness: An Art Installation and a Meditative Experience is part of the City of Toronto’s Awakenings initiative, which features art projects that explore untold stories, awaken new perspectives and invites the public to join the conversation.
Carol shares her explorative practice by encouraging reflective observation of paintings and through delivering Expressive Arts Workshops designed to engage participants with their own exploration of inner experiences. She has led workshops for City of Toronto, Scarborough Arts, Friends of the Guild, University of Toronto, St. John the Divine Convent, and throughout the Toronto District School Board.
Knowlton-Dority (B.A., Bachelor of Education) is a Toronto-based visual artist.
